Hello,
thanks to amazing 3.0 beta version of MLO it is now very easy to
filter tasks not only in to-do view, but also in tree view, which was
something what was not so easy in previous versions. It is very
helpful especially with long and complicated projects. Although this
function (filtering) is still not implemented directly in tree view,
you can very easily filter out specific items out by the following
workaround:

Let's say you want to hide all tasks with context "deferred" in tree
view. You simply go to to-do view, show only these tasks using
advanced filter and change the status to completed (by selecting all
the tasks (ctrl+a), switching back to tree view and choosing “complete
tasks and all subtasks” (right-click + Advanced) ). Now choose “Hide
completed tasks” in the tree view and you have filtered view.

The same applies for unhidding tasks (either “view all tasks” in tree
view or show all the hidden task (with context “deferred” and set as
completed) in to-do view, select them all in to-do view, switch back
to tree view, choose “uncomplete tasks and all subtasks”).

The only drawback if you use this way of filtering is to discriminate
between really completed tasks and tasks only hidden and marked as
completed. I personally do not use completed tasks and delete them
immediately. However if you want to have them for archiving purposes,
you can set new category (“completed”) and mark all completed tasks
with this category (even more, you can change completion mark of these
tasks the same way as described above). Thus you will know if the task
is completed or just hidden.

If you use filtering in tree view and you utilized another workaround,
please post here. Thank you, Andrey, for perfect and very promising
new version of MLO.

Daneb
