Not currently possible. I too, at first wondered if a good idea to
make everything a project, but after using the software for a bit, I
realized there are good reasons to not call everything that has
subtasks a project. Projects have specific special behaviors in the
To-Do list (prefix tasks, group by project, more), and having
everything that is multi-step turned into a project effectively
dilutes those special behaviors, making them not stand out anymore.
There are so many uses for a parent-child task relationship that would
not need the project status: simple task dependency, simple
organization, ordering of tasks (it takes a parent to be able to say
'complete subtasks in order"). I do better deciding on a case-by-
case basis what should stand out as a project -what needs to stand out
differently in the To-Do List- and it's easy to mark these with a
simply click of the checkbox -as well as uncheck them when I change my
mind.
