Yahoo groups is better than Google groups - I've never seen a group blocked for spam or anything else.
As to the switch to a forum if it happens i'm gone. As you see from this post: http://www.notesfromatooluser.com/2009/06/agile-mailing-lists.html I'm on 40+ mailing lists. It only works because it comes into gmail and I can quickly follow the conversations. Send me to seperate site and I'll be gone.
