A simple CONTROL + S after entering your RTE data should ensure it gets returned intact following a crash.
I believe that there is a built in autosave. You can tell an unsaved status exists when an asterisk is appended to MyLifeOrganized in the title bar. If you try to close the program when this is showing you get a prompt to save changes - if there isn't an asterisk you don't. It's possible your system crashed when there was still an asterisk showing i.e. in an unsaved state. Not sure if it's possible to change the autosave frequency from the registry - it certainly doesn't appear to be a menu option.
