I depend on One Alert more than I do MLO (heresy I know!) --but I use it religiously for just one thing. I put into it things that I want to be reminded of at a particular time every day/week. That is not very many things.
It does this particular job much better than MLO or any other program I've found. Entering and managing recurring tasks is pretty near effortless. And best of all, I don't need to mark the task as done, all I have to do is pay attention when I hear the little 'owl hoot', and go do what it tells me to do. So the deep watering gets done on Wednesdays between 8pm and 10pm when it's legal for me to water. And I don't miss out on the little window of time when my bakery has fresh sourdough once a week, before everyone else gets there. :) All that said, there IS one thing I wish it had. My email/calendar program (Chaos Intellect) has more choices in recurring times. On Intellect, I can specify that I want to be reminded BEFORE the weekend to pay my rent, if the 31st falls on a weekend, and I want to remember to send out invoices AFTER the weekend. So I end up using Intellect to hold these recurring tasks, which means I have to remember to look at the calendar because it doesn't remind me anywhere else. Which kinda sorta works... but... But I have a horror of One Alert losing the very simple power it currently has. If it started making me check things off when done, for instance, it would lose the essence of what makes it useful to me. So I'm loathe to ask for any changes at all :) Kye On Aug 20, 5:38 am, Sandersob <[email protected]> wrote: > Integration withOneAlert- I see no reason to have two reminding > programs running simulatenosly and I agree with author that there's no > need for Calendar view in MLO.
