Ah but you can't open multiple instances on the same file - as far as I can
see.  If you start a second instance of MLO (having ticked the 'Allow
multiple instances' box) and then try and open a file that you have open
already in the first instance,  the focus just switches to the first
instance and nothing happens in the second instance.

I don't know what Stanley wanted but this is what I was hoping for.
