Ah! Hadn't really thought about the effect on the search function as I don't use this for notes. Not sure a link to parent would be that useful though given that 'Ctrl Tab' takes me straight to the task in the Outline view anyway. And in any case, a link simply to a parent task then this might not suffice if all project info was contained in the project and its subtasks were multi-layered, or if I wanted to keep relevant links/ notes in a folder and that folder contained many projects.
If there was a way of excluding the inherited notes altogether in the search function, that would work, but I'm not sure how easy that would be to programme. An extension of the idea (I think, a better idea) would be to have two panes (one above the other) in the Notes Tab. The top one giving task- specific info and the bottom one (a grey backdrop perhaps to signal that editing is not allowed) showing inherited notes, where the user has chosen that option in the parent task. Again though, as you indicated, this only works if the search function can exclude inherited notes. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MyLifeOrganized" group.
