Hi Bill, i do it the following way:
- every task I create starts with a prefix in it's caption e.g. '@BIL' (I try to use at max. 3 letters) for me e.g. i use @JAY for colleagues (mean internal people) I set e.g. @PET (mean task for Peter, 3 letters max. would be enough for me so far) for customers (mean external people) I set e.g. @CMR_PAR (mean task for Mr. Parker) for 3rd party people (mean external companies) I set @3RD_SMI (mean task for Mr. Schmith) - Then I have set different views: "My tasks" (filter ist set to all task with a captions contains '@JAY') "My Colleagues tasks" (filter ist set to all task with a captions not contains '@JAY', '@CMR_', '@3RD_') "My Customer tasks" (filter ist set to all task with a captions contains '@CMR_') "My 3rd Party companiy tasks" (filter ist set to all task with a captions contains '@3RD') Additonally to that i have groupings for my projects. - just by changing the caption prefix of a task the repsonsibility could switch from one person to another (and will automatically appear in the corrct ToDo-View - for every non @JAY task i create an alert (and same due date) so that i got a hint when a task should be done and could call back the responsible people if I have not got any feedback for completion so far. If i got the completion feedback earlier i just set the task as completed. So the system ist tracing the other people for you ;-) If a task has not be done by the reponsible man i just set the the start date to the origin due date and set a new due date, so i have later on the control how long a task has been shiftes from the original due date as discussion basis for the responsible people and for later improvements. When someone is calling me or I just want to call someone I could extremely fast create a liste with all task I want to solve / or aks for the status or discuss with that man by just search for his prefix. E.g. Bill ist call me, I just do a search im mlo search dialogue for @bil and get immediately a list with all of his task and could directly clarify all task with him. That is extremely usefull and often surprising for the other people who have not that fast refocusing for the responsibilities ;-) So far for the moment.
