There was a point made in this thread about sites like Lifehacker (and
here, alternativeto) putting more emphasis on Freeware alternatives to
commercial software so MLO currently would be of limited interest to
their audience. It raises an interesting question about the route
people take these days to paid or commercial software. It seems like
where it used to be from trialware to paid for it's now freeware to
paid for (that's if they don't stop with freeware versions) - the
influence of Google I guess. Perhaps Andrey's business model should be
based around a free desktop version with development funded by
successful smartphone apps. But then he'd have to release the
smartphone apps first! (only joking). If it were my business that's
what I'd plan for.
