There is going to be a new set of development API that allow a consistent look and feel to the GUI, etc. It will definitely require a re-write of the app to be viable. The question is what kind of market share will Microsoft be able to maintain. With 4 viable phone OS's vying for market share it becomes quite a task for a small team to maintain apps for all of them!
