Bernd, I agree with having two "To-Do" tabs. Even if Audrey (the owner of MLO) gives them the same functionality...but still support independent views/filters it would be valuable. That way I can have one "To-Do" tab for work and one for home. Or one for projects and one for urgent items to do today and filter them differently.
As for making a list of things to do today. Use the "Star" feature. Make sure you the star column showing in both the outline and To-do tabs. Then on the To-Do tab select the "Star view" Then star everything you want to do today. Works well. You can even use the RTE box and add a "-*" or "-star" after the task and it will star it automatically. Great for making a quick to do list. Try the RTE (Rapid Task Entry) feature you will like it.
