The word sorta comes to mind.

In tools -> options
Themes and formatting edit themes
is the theme editor

The second tab has all of the task formats. What is missing is a choice for
a default task or a non-active task. Because of this "non-active" tasks use
the default tasks selection on the Font tab.

Since parent tasks are never active they use the default tasks rules on the
Font tab.

BTW, People have asked for an enhancement on this a number of times in the
past.

So if you want to modify non-active tasks then you have to do it in the
"automatic formatting" section. I have a folder rule and a non-folder rule
there. So my non-folder rule overrides the themes active and default tasks
rules.

For more information on this you can search either my or Ken's posts. We've
both talked about it in the past.
