Chuck - I have had the same problem. I think that modal dialogs just don't work well for people with a lot of reminders. I would either stop using them (my choice) or reduce the number of reminders so that you only get one at a time.
In terms of Windows this is what happens: - MLO raises a Modal Dialog - MLO updates the reminders dialog - The reminders dialog is brought to the front. Interesting I bet if you dig into the current Windows design guidelines modal dialogs have been deprecated. For the most part you're invited to create modeless dialogs.
