You are right that any change made persists as the new default. This is because it links to a registry setting "DefRecDoNotCreateCompletedCopy". I think this might not be intended behaviour especially as the dialog box refers to changing "this task" implying the default remains unaffected. In addition, the other settings in the same dialog box DON'T persist and are, as described for "this task" only. Perhaps Andrey could confirm if this was the design or a mistake. In the meantime, you can set the default you want and then if you ever have to change it for a single task you simply go to another task (any task) go back to the dialog box and change it back again and select "remove recurrence" in the preceding dialog. A pain, I know, but at least you wouldn''t have to remember which setting was in place and presumably you aren't switching often.
