So many people I respect are supporting calendar view, a feature I view as a waste of time. I wonder why? Perhaps I am picturing something totally different than you are.
I am picturing something like what you get when in Outlook when you include tasks in the calendar and take a month view - a five-by-seven matrix with a date in each box, many boxes otherwise empty but some boxes overflowing with cryptic abbreviations of task names. Are you picturing something better than this? Would you put a task in the box for the start date? The due date? Both? Would you draw a bar from the start to the due? Would you use the dreadful five-by-seven matrix? Or would you put a 31-point scalar across the bottom of the page? Maybe one of the supporters of this function could draw or at least describe a prototype of your vision of a calendar view. If your vision of calendar view includes start-to-due bars over a 31-point scalar, then we would be well on the way to a gantt chart, which I think is the only reliable way of showing tasks over time and balancing commitments against resources.
