The impression I've gotten is that getting MLO to run on Linux is not officially supported, so it's hit-and-miss (mostly miss). You'll need to use WINE or a derivative of WINE (such as CrossOver). Search this mailing list for "linux"; occasionally someone posts that they got a certain version to work. A quick scan of the more recent MLO on Linux threads suggests that MLO 3.5.9 will work on Linux, so try that version.
