Welcome to the group! I assume you are talking about the desktop version?
Take a look at the "Todo" tab...this gives you lots of ways to look at your tasks including by due date. Click on the "view:" heading. If you don't like the predefined views you can make your own or modify an existing one. You *can* sort subtasks by due-date in the Outline, as well. Use "Advanced --> Sort Subtasks". But this will sort them as they are now, and won't keep them sorted or updated....so for most people it's easier to slice&dice through the Todo tab.
