Like several others who have posted here, I use “star” to mean “goal for
today” but if there were an actual “today” value for goal there are other
things I could use the star for.

me I mean!

Wow Robisme...I totally agree with this one. The idea of having a "goal for
(to)day" or "goal for day" would be awesome. But then again, having a "goal
for day", AND having the possibility of choosing which day of "this week"
you want to complete that goal (which is different than putting a due date
as you said) would be even more awesome....This would be like (kind of)
response to the need, a lot of us have, of implementing a calendar into mlo.

...Just trying here to push the idea of day goal a little further!

PS: I have the impression that some of you would argue that you can just put
a star beside the task, instead of create a "goal for day", but I feel that
"goal for day" and "starred" would'nt have the same function!

But maybe I'm wrong! Haven't analysed this!

Thanks Robisme!

Hi,

Your post is starting to answer one of my questions : are goals "goals for
this particular week", or "a goal I use to take care weekly" ?

If "this particular week", wouldn't it make sense to have a "goal for Day",
so one could set his job for today and thus, having them filtered in the
todo view if wanted. (I propose that because, often, a task is don before
the due-date, so due-date is not convenient for planning a day.

what's your point ?

Luc,

Thanks for sharing this. I really enjoy it when people contribute
these sort of posts on how they use MLO. It's really helpful for me
because I always find that it starts me thinking critically of ways to
improve my workflow, even after I have been using MLO for several
years now. Filtering by View Goals in Outline....I need to think
about that one!

Cheers,

Phil

It's also a reflection on the quality of MLO itself thanks to the
input from the dedicated user group.
