It syncs well with Android, though not entirely automated/automatable, but is not trying to be a replacement for Outlook. It does, however, sync with Outlook, but I've not tried syncing both Outlook and Android.
I and someone else here use gSyncIt to sync Outlook Calendar and Contacts to Google (and hence to Android), and I just don't use Outlook tasks whatsoever anymore. It's much more powerful in Task management than Outlook.
