Well, something is different, obviously. Even if you didn't turn on Hide-in-todo, it's worth checking anyway, just in case. It's inherited by the whole tree below it so it would be on a toplevel task.
Does the Home task tree have a different context? If so look at the open/closed hours. They often look "backwards" to me. What view are you using in the Todo tab? There are many different views, and looking into which views they show up in and which they don't might provide a clue.
