Thank you for the example. But I suppose that you use just one view per tab 
and in such case idea of separate workspaces don`t work. If it true then 
what does tabs for you? For what functionality they are reponsable? Similar 
behaviour are available using list of views on one tab.
I don`t want to critic you or developers design, I just want to understand 
what philosophy developers used for such implementation. And also I`m 
trying to find real use cases for tabs.
