It sounds like you are trying to accomplish two activities: one is rapid
task entry, and the other responses have explained how that works (only on
the desktop though). The second is processing your inbox.

Because MLO keeps tasks in a tree as well as in all of your individual,
dynamically created lists, there is no concept of moving it "out" of the
inbox without putting it somewhere else. It sometimes can be annoying to
have to do another step to move the task to its proper location, but in the
long run, it's a very nice feature to have one's tasks organized separately
from the lists they are in.

If you are working on the desktop and really don't want to have to move
things out of the inbox, one option is to create an alternative view which
shows only those tasks that do not have the pieces of information you want
them to have in order to consider them "processed". Then, as soon as you
add this information, they will disappear from that list.

As for setting the various properties, you have a few different options for
efficiency. If you don't like having to remember the input parsing
explained in another message followed by alt-enter, there are shortcuts
that jump to most of the fields, so even though you cannot tab through
them, you can quickly set the fields you want once you learn the keyboard
shortcuts. Another option is to include the columns that you want to have
set in the view . For most columns, right clicking in the appropriate
column will give you the option to change it.

Another shortcut is to use control-M to move the task to its proper
location after you have set its fields. control-and will bring up a new
window with your outline in it, and typing the first few characters of the
parent you want will jump to it. I have my outline prefixed by numbers so
that I can type 0-9 and quickly jump to my major areas.

Here is how I process my inbox:
First, I multi-select tasks which have the same contexts, and right-click
the context column, until all of my inbox tasks have contexts. Next, since
I work a lot with goals and starred, I apply the same process to them.
Third, I look for anything that needs a due date, or anything that can't be
started until the future.
Lastly, I multi-select tasks that are going to the same Life Focus (the
folders in my outline), control-M, and hit a number 0-9.

I usually take care of tasks that are two minutes or less, but not always
as this tends to distract me and then the inbox never gets processed :-)

I also have a failsafe where all tasks in my inbox show up in some of my
lists to force me to process my inbox more often. This way I can send tasks
to my inbox and not worry about missing them later.
