The windows version gives a 45 day full functioning trial. Android too, the only service that you have to pay for initially is the cloud service, you can get a 30 day trial for $2.95, which is what I did, or just use the WiFi sync.
If you have gone over the 45 day trial period for the Android or Windows version, you need to start a new database and import the old (there are some restrictions there I seem to remember, I think its just completed tasks that cannot be imported though). This is how I trialled the software prior to purchase, and I don't think it has changed....
