Hi Pawel. I understand your concern - I think it's working correctly but I agree that it's confusing. The issue involves the difference between changing a tab and changing a view.
A view is defined by a set of filters, any zoom setting that may be used, and the grouping and sorting setup. You can see what view you are in by looking at the view name just above the first task. If the view name starts with an asterisk it means that the view has been changed but the changes haven't been saved. A workspace is defined by a view plus a selection. The selection is the one task that's in focus. It's highlighted and displayed in the right side panel. Each tab is associated with a workspace. If the workspace name shown on a tab starts with an asterisk, that means that the view currently shown in the workspace is not the default view. When you change a filter you are changing the definition of a view. If a workspace was set up to show that view and it's still showing that view, the workspace is considered to be unchanged even if the view changed. When you change a view (by changing the filter or any of the other parts of the view definition) you can change it back (so long as you have not saved it) by clicking "Reset View" at the bottom of the left panel. If you have changed a workspace to a different view you can change it back by right-clicking the tab and selecting "restore default for this tab" or by doubleclicking the tab. If you have a tab set to a particular view and you change the filters for that view, you haven't changed the tab as long as the tab still points to the same (changed) view. Is this clear? If I've confused you please let me know and I will try to say it more clearly. -Dwight From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Pawel Bartuzi Sent: Tuesday, April 30, 2013 8:46 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [MLO] Defaults for a tab - inconsistent behavior with filters Hi, I think the "defaults for tabs" feature works inconsistently regarding filters: when I set some defaults for a tab and then set "Lock default in this tab" to "on", any change in a filter panel (on the left) opens new "modified" tab and the original tab remains unchanged. However when the lock is off, changes made to the filters are not noticed by MLO and I cannot use "Restore defaults for this tab" functionality. Is this a bug or a feature? :-) -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MyLifeOrganized" group.
