I don’t see how that can be done with just the main file open: There's no 
option to specify a source file in a sync profile so during step #3, you 
can't select the branch file to sync to the cloud – you’re just sync’ing 
whatever file you're working in. So it seems you'd have to open the branch 
file from step #1 in a separate MLO instance, then sync to the cloud from 
there. Unless I'm missing something?

 
Anyway, I'm hoping there's some reasonably simple work-around for branch 
syncs because Blackberry USB sync does not work for large MLO files like 
mine.
