Hi, Tom. I don’t know whether or not there’s a web client for MLO in planning. There have been some requests and discussions, though, and I’d like to point out one area of concern. I believe that the most feasible way to provide a web client would be to create a user interface to the profile data residing in the MLO Cloud. The existence of this interface would increase the risk that confidential data would suffer unauthorized disclosure. There have also been some suggestions that MLO cloud data be protected by end-to-end encryption, with decrypted data never appearing on the cloud servers. This would make the development of a user interface problematic.
The request for a web interface and the request for enhanced security for cloud data are pulling in opposite directions. Being able to deploy on several platforms is nice, but one still has to synchronize (though Win is pretty automatic and Android indicates the need to sync). Where it becomes annoying is when one is working at a client's site - typically where you need to be on top of things -. It would be so much easier to have web-based access to MLO from a clien'ts computer at that time, instead of typing on a small mobile device ... I use DOit.im for TODO's i want to manage at client locations for ONLY that reason.
