Regarding the crashing, it sounds like you had a corrupted or malformed task. I had this a long while ago, but without identifying the task and it's location in the tree it will be impossible to track down the cause. I couldn't replicate the problem and it never came back.
Regarding the cloud service, it's brilliant and reliable. It just works. I sync multiple devices including Windows, Android and iOS, and this would be impossible with Wifi.
