for "planning" and random catching of thoughts and then organizing into a
project overview I use xmind

for lists, items to inspect, actionable tasks, and as strict as i can make
it simply using folders and contexts I use mlo

for "storage" or for keeping many different items corralled as reference
for projects I use onenote
