Hi, Alice/Amber.

Maybe somebody will have a more clever suggestion than me but I cannot imagine
a way to select projects that have no starred child.

On the other hand you say that viewing starred items shows you the *latest*
status for a project. Does that suggest that when you drag a message from
Outlook to MLO and star it you are also clearing the star on the previous
status? Because if so, I would suggest that when you create a new project you
also create a new, starred, task that says “no status updates yet”. You could
create a filter to select tasks that are (still) starred called “no status
update yet” to check for projects that may need intervention. When an update
appears in Outlook and you drag it to MLO and star it, you would (presumably)
be clearing to star from the prior status. Being unstarred now, the “no status”
message would not appear in the view any more.

Does this sound useful?

Subject: [MLO] Is this View Possible?

I use MLO to manage all of my work projects and as an adjunct to Outlook --
meaning I drag all project-pertinent emails into MLO which create tasks of
them. I star the task objects (that are really emails) that show the latest
status for each project, so I can view my starred items to get an overview on
the latest status for all of my projects.

I'm able to create a view that shows only the starred items for each project,
but I'd love a view that also show what projects I don't have a starred item
for -- to give me an idea of what projects I could take action on to at least
ensure that I've hit the ball to someone else and that the project is not
waiting on me.

Is this kind of view possible, or would you recommend handling "status update"
tasks differently?

Thank you!
