This sounds like a long standing problem that I have reported several
times where the cut and paste keys (Ctrl V, Ctrl C and Ctrl X) stop
working when you open additional MLO windows using the F3 key.
Which is why restarting MLO appears to resolve the problem because it
restarts with just the main window open so everything is fine until you
hit F3 again.
Took me ages to track down but I am afraid it remains sadly
Do let me know whether yours is the same problem.
The right click menu options do still work but are much less
satisfactory.

I had switched Views to get to my Inbox -- that is all. Nevertheless I
quit and re-opened MLO which then allowed me to paste.
I do not use any clipping programs. Pretty sure this is something
broken in MLO.
