A while ago, Dwight helped set me up with a view that shows any Completed Tasks that include uncompleted sub-tasks
In Windows, on the left hand side > Filter > Advanced > Add advanced > Setup > Add rule > Complete > Add rule > HasIncompleteSubtasks > OK. That is, [Complete] AND [HasIncompleteSubtasks] Does that do it for you? I suspected that what was orphaning my tasks was the ‘+’ add task icon in the Starred view in Android. It would insert a task in the right place in the Starred list, but in the wrong place in my Outline. I expected it to insert in the Inbox in my outline, but it inserted close to whichever task is was near to in the starred list. Any such tasks I ticked off in the starred list, before reviewing my Outline, would start creating these orphans, totally unexpectedly – as well as scattering tasks in unexpected places all over my Outline. Nightmare. Nowadays I’m much more disciplined about creating new tasks on Android – in the inbox (rarely), or with the Add New Task widget (usually) – haven’t had an orphaned task for ages. I was playing with an advanced view for this thread about Active Actions Tomorrow (https://groups.google.com/d/msg/mylifeorganized/8XLPfjAg4lI/Z-5125Y6BAAJ) and found about 10 tasks orphaned. I don't know that they were showing in any of my other views. Questions: Does anyone have a view established to look for orphaned projects? Here is what I was playing with: (not(ActiveAction)) AND (not(Complete)) AND (not(HasIncompleteSubtasks)) AND (not(HideInToDo)) AND (not(IsFolder)) AND (DependencyCounter=0) AND >(StartDateTime on or before Today+1) OR (StartDateTime does not exist) I think there was an old feature request to ensure a parent couldn't be completed without the children completed first. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MyLifeOrganized" group.
