Hi, Mikolajek.
MLO is highly customizable, and almost anything you want to do can be
done in several different ways - one is not better than the other, you
just need to use the one that is most comfortable for you.
The easiest thing to do would be to just select the <Inbox> folder and
in the Properties section in the right-hand sidebar, check "hide the
branch in To-Do". The disadvantage of this approach is that all the
items in the inbox will become inactive and none of them will show up in
any to-do list of active tasks.
An alternative would be to introduce yourself to the wonderful world of
advanced filters - arguably the single most powerful tool within MLO.
Here are the instructions. It's long but that is because I am giving it
to you in small careful steps. Try it, it's not bad:
1. Be sure that MLO is displaying a view which has everything you want
except that the unwanted inbox is shown
2. The left sidebar should have the current view name at the top
followed by view filter options with sections like General, Text,
Contexts, etc. If it says "Views" at the top, click on the word "Views
to bring up the view filter options
3. find the "Advanced" section. Is the checkbox "add advanced" set? If
so, you are using a complex view to start with. That should be lesson
two. For lesson one start over with some other view where this checkbox
is not set.
4. check the "add advanced" box and click the "setup" button right under it
5. On the "setup advanced filtering" popup click the big blue plus icon
"add rule".
6. You should now see a line of eight boxes and icons, where the first
one is a checkbox that has the checkmark set. Click on the next item
which is a dropdown box and select "TopLevelFolderName"
7. Click the second box and select "Is"
8. Click the third box and type in <Inbox> - these seven characters with
the "<" and the ">" but no quotation marks and no trailing blanks. Be
sure that you get this exactly right.
9. If you stop now, none of the tasks in the inbox will be in your
report but it will show the inbox folder with no contents. If that's
what you want skip to step 12 otherwise continue below.
10. Be sure that the next box says "AND (*not* OR) and click on the next
icon, another big blus plus. Another line will appear.
11. Repeat steps 6,7,8 only this time, in the first dropdown, select
"Caption" - this will make the inbox folder itself also hidden
12. Click the OK button on the setup advanced filtering popup
13. Click the "Save View" button near the bottom of the left sidebar
14 Enter a new name for this view, like HiddenInbox or anything else you
like as long as there is not already a saved view with that name
Done. Now whenever you select the view called HiddenInbox (or whatever
you called it) the inbox and its contents will be hidden.

Is there a way not to display the default <Inbox> folder in a custom
view based on folders?
It automatically appears everywhere I'm afraid... :(
