Okay, long time user of MLO here leaving due to frustration. The app I'm moving to is a web app which is currently working on bi-directional sync with Google Calendar and right now, like a lot of users out there, I need to see my time-block schedule in Google Calendar with individual tasks throughout the day so, as hard as it has been for me to do so, I've decided to move to that app thus giving up a lot of awesome features in MLO because of the way I need to work my tasks now. My system: I'm using Google Calendar to time-block projects and other things in my life and using my task manager for the specifics; however, there are tasks in my task manager that are not a part of a project that I need to see in my calendar. I can't do this in MLO (as far as I know). While the Android 2 app is a good start displaying Google Calendar with tasks, the tasks are not displayed within the calendar. I don't want to flip back and forth between my calendar events and daily tasks.
Anyway, I thought I'd post my suggestions on what I think would make MLO great and bring many more users to it: - *Integrate a subscription-based plan for MLO.* It's clear to me that you don't make enough off of MLO and your team is too small to handle more platforms like Windows Phone and Apple iOS. Development is at a crawl. You need to make money. As much as current MLO users may not like the idea of it, a lot more people out there will not pay $60 for the desktop version, $15 for Cloud Sync and then $25 for the mobile version. Make it subscription with something like $30/year. This is much more reasonable and I think it would draw more users to MLO. I personally would happily pay $30 a year if it meant more income for you. When you succeed, we succeed. - *MLO needs a one-time setup.* Not sure if this is possible with MLO but a lot of people won't use MLO because you have to set it up each time you put it on a new device including workspaces and views. As it currently works, if I change a setting in my views on the desktop, I have to make the same change to the version on my phone and then on my tablet. That's too old school. Perhaps you're working to change this but if not, MLO will continue to stagnate and trickle in low income for you. - *MLO Everwhere.* One of the things that a lot of people value is the fact they can access their system everywhere. I would think once you implemented the first two then you would be able to focus on growing your team and adding more platforms. Personally, I'd love to see an extension for Chrome so that I could add links to MLO like I can the Android 2 app. However, if you're not making more off of your hard work then it just slows down development for everything else. Anyway, just my thoughts. I see these things in other productivity apps that enjoy a large user-base. From what I've read on other forums and places on the Internet, I'm convinced a lot of people who use these simpler web-based apps are actually looking for and needing what MLO offers. It's just that MLO hasn't "arrived" yet in the form they need. Hopefully that will change in the future. Signing out.
