I've had many years of very stable operation with MLO (even with the beta 
versions). However, something similar did happen to me once. It turned out 
that my MLO outline file had been corrupted at some point. They way to spot 
it was to open the xls outline in Notepad (or Notepad++ which can 
colour-code the xls tags) and scroll down to see where the pattern in the 
item descriptions changes.

The other alternative is to open one of your backup or archive files and 
see if it's more stable. If you have no backups, you can always start a new 
MLO outline, add some dummy items into it and see if it runs stable - that, 
at least, narrows the problem down to the outline file rather than the .exe 
application itself.

Good luck with searching for the corruption - That's not a fun situation to 
be in.
