Hi Nick It's the middle of 2017 and I just tried to setup email alerts. Because I use port 465 in Thunderbird I expected this to be necessary in MLO.
It turned out that port 25 with the checkbox for 'My server requires authentication' cleared was the solution ! Presumably everyone else has discovered this by now.
