I use views massively as well, and I would definitely like to see synch
for view definitions some day. But it;s not a big deal for me because it
is not really very hard to copy view definitions once in a great while
when I need it, and also normal cloud synch takes care of synching view
CONTENTS i.e. tasks (as opposed to view DEFINITIONS)
It seems like this is a much bigger problem for you, so I wonder if you
could use what MLO already does to make the problem get smaller. I don't
want to waste your time and mine writing out step by steps to solve a
problem that's not the right problem for you. So first, lets just look
at the process and see which part is giving you "a LOT of work"
First, assuming that you have a big collections on, lets say, Windows
that are working pretty well for you and you want them to be on your
Android phone. You can just go into your list of views on Windows,
select all of the views, export them all to a single file, email the
file to yourself, open the email on your phone, save the attached file
and import it into MLO. This is definitely work, maybe 10 minutes, but
it is not a huge amount of work and you should not be doing it more than
once or twice a year plus when you get a new phone or factory reset your
phone. If you want step by step instructions for this part let me know.
Second, when you have to tweak one of your views (for example, I have a
view that pulls from five contexts and I have to add a sixth one) you
should make the change on one platform and test it, debug it if
necessary and try it out on one platform and not copy it to the other
until you are sure it's working. Then you do the same export/import as
above except instead of selecting all your views you just select the one
(or two or three) that you have changes. It's about the same ten minutes
(five minutes after you have some practice). If this happened twice a
day I would thing it is a lot of work. It happens for me maybe once
every month or two. If you have only been writing views for three months
or less, then think of it as a part of the burn-in process, it will get
better soon. If you have been writing views for more than three months
and this is still burdensome, then I have three suggestions: a. maybe
you are not doing the export/import right. Ask for step-by-step
instructions for single view export import. b. for small changes like
adding a sixth context it can sometimes be easier just to edit the
Windows view and then make the same edit to the phone view. c. If you
are editing views every day or two or three times a week and you have
been doing it for three months and it's still happening, maybe you have
to rethink your view definitions. Maybe there is a way that your
volatility could be expressed in the data (the tasks) instead of in the
view definitions, in which case cloud synch would handle it for you. If
this is your situation, please think of a view whose definition you have
to revise several times per week or more, and write back describing the
view and the kinds of changes that you have found necessary.
Third, when you change the view contents but not definition, you should
not have to synch anything beyond the normal cloud synch. For example,
if you have a view of all tasks containing the word "print" and you add
a new one, "print license renewal" the new task will be picked up by
cloud synch and will show up in the view on both platforms. Also, if you
have a view that shows you tasks due in the next seven days, and you
have a task that's not showing because it's eight days away, then around
midnight the task will show up, on both platforms, no need to synch
anything. The idea is that your view definitions should change very
seldom while your view contents change frequently. If you have views
like tasks due this week, overdue tasks with a star, tasks with a
context that includes the word "call" and an importance greater than
103, these definitions do not change often once you have written and
debugged them. New calls, tasks that run out of time and become overdue,
etc, these are data changes and will be copied by cloud synch. Again, in
you have view definitions that really have to be frequently changed,
please write back describing the view and the kinds of changes that you
have found necessary.

I use massively the views, and it is a LOT of work just to reproduce
