Mark, sorry for so many replies. MLO is very powerful and complex software. 
And many times the desired result can be achieved in different ways.
So, there is also another way to restrict the display of completed tasks.
Go to the view editor, then tap on the advanced filter. 
There you can choose and customize the CompletedDateTime filter.
You can set it to show any date interval. 
To show the completed tasks during last 7 days, just write in the value box 
the following sentence:
Today-7.
