Views will let the original poster set up a way of viewing all tasks for a 
particular date, but I don't think there's a way of automatically setting a 
specific date for new entries. However, allowing MLO to parse your entries 
(search for "parse" in the manual) means you can quickly include a date 
when you type in a new entry. You can use -s and -d switches to set start 
and due dates, too (just don't put a space between the switch and the date).
