Hi Jim

*on windows*
Run Rapid Task Entry. In the top left corner of the RTE window you'll see a 
button called Parent. 
Change it to Inbox.
Enter your task details in the text area and press Add task.
That's it.

(by default the hotkey for RTE is Ctrl+Shift+M. If it is not, then go to 
Tools>Options>RapidTaskEntry dialog and set the new hotkey).

*on android/ios:*
swipe from left to right to show the main menu.
find the button "add to inbox"
