nope my best solution was to lose what I did (which wasn't much) on mlo5 by finding an automatic backup just before the upgrade and restore that. It wasn't easy but was better than what you suggested in that case.
So you are confirming that this is a very bad thing MLO is doing by tricking people into thinking it would be simple to agree to try 5 and then just go back to 4.x when it isn't ready. There is no warning that all these things will happen, yet they are very aware that it will happen. Bad choice all around.
