There is https encryption going from your computer to their sync server, but then it is decrypted and stored on their computer in a way I guess similar to the way your computer stores your tasks.
That means the hacker may find a way to break into their server, but they are probably more likely to break into your computer, and likely already have access. It's something that changed in the last 10 years, a lot more infiltration into personal computers and monitoring what you do. That means they can probably get your tasks without you syncing anywhere else. Worried? I suggest learning as much as you can about personal security and ways to encrypt private information.
