Good news. And partially my fault. I hadn't used this feature for a very long time and in the SETTINGS for Notification/Tasks, it was set to an old profile which I don't use. Once I reset to a current profile, it WORKS AS EXPECTED. Sorry for any 'pressure' I might have caused, and am therefore posting this in middle of the night so that you get this info quickly, and not worry.
Suggestion: After a task is added via the notification, you display a quick message 'task added'. If you can enhance that message with 'task added to profile xyz', it would eliminate this problem. Also, depending on the desktop wallpaper and icons, the message 'task added' is not always visible, so it seems like that nothing happened.
