At one time, one of the users set up something at Uservoice.com -
for a little while it was great but it quickly got stale.
Each user got a bunch of votes (I think, 10?) to allocate among
all of the proposed enhancements. The ehancements were listed in
order of popularity. As the system aged:
- Existing users allocated their votes among existing ideas and
had no votes left to support any new ideas.
- The list of proposals was many pages long, with old, favorite
ideas on the first page. New ideas no matter ow good started at
the end of the list and did not get many votes because nobody
noticed them.
- When one of the proposals was accepted it was supposed to be
removed from the list and the votes returned to the users to be
allocated to new proposals. This may have happened once or twice
but a lot of small proposals got implemented without anyone
bothering to remember that there was a uservoice item to be
cleared.
- The list of the top ten ideas never changed because of the
issues above and people with brilliant new ideas were frustrated
at the way new ideas languished at the bottom of the list, so
they found other ways to pursue their ideas, like discussing
them on this forum, sending requests in to the support email, or
joining the beta test team. Once this happened there was no life
left in uservoice and it withered away.

I think these conversations (Google platform) are great, in
particular for sharing knowledge, helping each other, now...
does it allow for voting ideas/enchantments requests?
The purpose of voting would be to show the development
team/product owners what requests are more requested/popular,
and ideally influence their scope prioritization...
