Hi Dwight

Short reply:

Alt-C to jump to Properties > General > Contexts

There, type enough of the text string to filter the list

Enter will select the top one in the filtered list

‘ho’ will suffice to choose ‘”3Home’ as a context

It filters to show ‘@ Shop’ too, but ‘@ S’ sorts lower

Alt-C seems to jump you there from anywhere else

Longer reply, as background:

My Contexts list (F8) includes

" DOMESTIC========

"1Self

"2Desk

"3Home

"4Garage

"5Garden

All begin with “ so ‘things to do domestically’ are grouped

The numbering forces them to sort logically rather than A-Z

This helps on Android, which is scroll-tap, rather than key-type

But on desktop, ‘ho’ suffices, no need to remember the ‘”3’ bit

I have other groups of contexts, such as

! DIRECTION========

" DOMESTIC========

# PEOPLE=========

& TECH===========

@   LOCATIONS=======

The caps and ===== makes the groupings more visible in Android

These special characters sort the same on Windows and Android

I know your system is already mature, but this may help others

Regards

Wol

Subject: [MLO] contexts by keyboard

Filling in task details in the Properties (right) sidebar under Windows 10, I
tab into yje Context box and start typing. I type "#co" and notice a little
popup box with two entries, "#computer" and "#cooking". I want the computer
entry, so I type an "m" and the "cooking" entry vanishes. Now, my task is to
inform MLO that the context displayed in the little box is the one that I want
and should be recorded as the chosen context. I could do it by typing "puter",
or by picking up the mouse, mousing over to the context and clicking it. But
either of those options is too much work - there must be a way to do what I
want with just a few taps.

I've tried all the combinations of Space, Tab and Enter, alone or combined with
Shift Alt or CTRL - none of them seemed to have any effect. Any suggestions?

- Dwight
