Hi,
I have resolved this as follows: in Tools/Options/Behaviour = tick the  
"Associate with *.ml files"
The format that is working for me (in Joplin, markdown) is : [link's 
name](mlo:C:\Users\user1\Documents\myMLOfile.ml?{A1G26D66-C586-4058-9418-4D0CB4FB51D2})
