Subject: [Indlinux-group] Getting a Linux users group going
To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hello,
Sorry, this is a little off-topic for the list, but
I thought that there might be people here experienced
in starting up Linux Users Groups. There is an
existing ILUG-Bhubaneswar, where we are based, but it
exists mostly as a Yahoo group, and even here
participation is desultory. We would like to generate
some enthusiasm among the members, so that we can form
a core group of people interested in OSS. The hope is
that an active group like this would be instrumental
in
promoting OSS, and eventually be of help in our
localization efforts. So, I would like to hear from
anyone who has been in at the start of a thriving
ILUG.
What did you do to get people interested initially?
What are good starting activities? Installfests,
informal talks, ??? Any input would be much
appreciated.

Regards,
Gora
