Assuming you managed to configure wine on RHEL 
(http://www.winehq.com/site/download-rh),
download ie6setup.exe from Microsoft and run wine ie6setup.exe. Simple. 
And, let us know if you get that working.

But, why would anyone want to run IE on Linux ?

I for one, need it to test a couple of web applications/sites on IE. How much 
ever we hate it, IE still has more than 80% market worldwide and sites that 
look spiffy and pretty on Moz crashes IE (personal experience :D). 

And, obviously running VMWare is IMO a big waste of resources. 

If anybody manages to get IE on wine working, please let me know how you did it.
