After installing u have to configure audio driver for some linux flavours for that u just config alsa........

try these simple steps

$ alsaconfig
-------to instal reqd audio driver

after this

$ alsamixer
---------to increase the volumes

$alsactl
--------to save changes

then play ur audio stream
