dont know where to post this, so putting it here. I don't know whether my interpretation is correct, but what seems to be asked is a complete rewrite!
IMHO, there are plenty of text editors out there which do Unicode. Nudi can just bundle one of them along with its distribution, after giving it the same look and feel. What seems to be a more pressing matter is the lack of good fonts. If kagapa can focus on getting many fonts out instead, which encompass all aspects of kannada it will be great. The fonts like Tunga and Kedage and Mallige have a minimalist set, not really the range that Nudi's fonts provide. http://www.wazu.jp/gallery/Fonts_Kannada.html either the number of glyphs is small (mallige) or the font is miserable (akshar).
