Follow-up Comment #1, bug #15859 (project mypaint):
While we should probably handle this in a better way I must ask, what are you
using this for?
If you want to import a single image and paint over it with MyPaint, its
probably better to open it with "File -> Open" or equivalent, or paste it in
as a layer (with Ctrl+V).
More direct on the bug; how reproducible is this? And how much memory do you
have left when trying to perform this action?
